BOM Systems was founded by environmental and geographic specialists Dr Gavin Jordan and Dr Laura-Jane Nolan, whose collaboration at the United Nations in 2021 focused on making peacekeeping supply chains more sustainable. There, we identified a common challenge across many sectors: the need for practical, science-led tools to measure and reduce emissions. That insight also sparked GoZero; a carbon calculator platform designed to help public and private sector organisations move decisively toward net zero. Backed by a network of sector experts, here at BOM Systems, we deliver tailored, up-to-date consultancy grounded in real-world experience.
Meet the people
Dr. Gavin Jordan, Co-founder of GoZero, brings over 35 years of experience in sustainability, forestry, and environmental management systems. His career has included work across sectors developing carbon accounting frameworks, ISO-compliant systems, and supply chain sustainability strategies. He is known for his practical, systems-level approach to climate action, helping organisations turn sustainability commitments into measurable outcomes. Gavin’s leadership on a UN peacekeeping logistics project in 2021 inspired the creation of GoZero.

Laura-Jane is a carbon consultant with a PhD in Geography and Earth Sciences and a passion for turning research into action. For the past few years, she has worked internationally with clients, including the United Nations, focusing on various topics, from improving supply chain sustainability in peacekeeping missions to developing communications about the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
At GoZero, she works on carbon footprinting, decarbonisation training, client engagement, and creating baselines from which organisations can obtain sustainability objectives. She’s also certified in PRINCE2, ITIL, and Power BI and brings strong analytical and communication strategies to every project.
